Rashtriya Krishi Vigyan Puraskar 2025

Dr. Kajal Chakraborty was honoured with the "Rashtriya Krishi Vigyan Puraskar 2025" for Innovation in Agricultural and Allied Sciences.

Rajbhasha Award

During 2018–2019, Rajarshi Tandon Rajbhasha Puraskar was announced by the Department of Official Language, Indian Council of Agricultural Research for its outstanding contribution to the use of Hindi in official government work.

ICAR-National Bureau of Fisheries Genetic Resources, Lucknow received the First Prize in the category of "Ka" and "Kha" sector.

Cashless ICAR Institute Award

ICAR-NBFGR, Lucknow was awarded the Cashless ICAR Institute Award by ICAR. The award was presented by Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, for notable efforts in implementing cashless transactions in institute activities.

Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award – 2011

The ICAR-NBFGR received the prestigious Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award for the year 2011 under small institute category. Dr. J.K. Jena, Director, received the award from Honb'le Union Minister for Agriculture Shri Sharad Pawar in presence of Shri Haris Rawat, Honb'le Minister of State for Agriculture and Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR on the occasion of the Foundation Day of ICAR on 16 July, 2012 at New Delhi. The award comprised certificate, citation and cash prize of Rs. 10.0 lakhs. The NBFGR family took pride in this achievement and vowed to perform to the expectations of the Council and its stakeholders.

Matsya Lok-2014

Annual Hindi Magazine of the ICAR-NBFGR was awarded the Second Prize in 2014 by the 'Nagar Rajbhasa Karyanvayan Samiti, Lucknow, amongst the magazines brought out by central government offices located at Lucknow. It was co-edited by Dr. Akhilesh K. Mishra, Technical Officer and Dr. L.K. Tyagi, Sr. Scientist.

Best Freshwater Angelfish

The ICAR-NBFGR, Lucknow was awarded with the “Best Freshwater Angelfish” display in 7th Indian International Aquashow (IIAS) held during 24-28 January, 2014 at Kochi, Kerala.

Matsya Lok- 2013

Annual Hindi Magazine of the ICAR-NBFGR was awarded the Third Prize in 2013 by the 'Nagar Rajbhasa Karyanvayan Samiti, Lucknow, amongst the magazines brought out by central government offices located at Lucknow.

The ICAR-NBFGR Annual Hindi Magazine - 'Matsya Lok' got the First Prize in 2012 amongst the magazines brought out by the institutes/offices under central government located at Lucknow. It was awarded by the 'Nagar Rajbhasa Karyanvayan Samiti' at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Lucknow.

Best ICAR Annual Report Award

The ICAR-NBFGR was awarded the "Best ICAR Annual Report Award in the small Institutes category" for the years 2003-04, 2006-07 and 2009-10.

The ICAR-NBFGR Pavilion bagged “First Prize for Indigenous Species” in International Aqua Show, Kochi, 2004, organized by the Department of Fisheries, Govt. of Kerala and Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India
